In 1876, Texas A&M became the Lone Star state's first public higher learning institution. Since then, it has grown to be a major research-intensive school with 64,000-plus students at the flagship campus alone. Based in College Station, Texas A&M offers 133 undergraduate degree programs, 175 master's degree programs, and 92 doctoral degree programs.
JoVE Highlight: University of West Florida
This school opened for its first class in 1967, and currently serves some 12,850 graduate and undergraduate students. For the past three years, the Florida Board of Governors has ranked UWF among the top three performing state schools. Based in Pensacola, it is accredited in a variety of study fields, including clinical laboratory science, computer engineering and electrical engineering.

This company, more than 150 years old, is a top global innovator for the materials science industry. It offers manufacturing/engineering expertise in glass science, ceramics science, and optical physics. Based in Corning, New York, it services customers in a wide variety of fields, including those in optical communications, mobile consumer electronics, display technology, and the biotech and automotive industries
JoVE Highlight: Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF)
The GNF comprises 600 scientists and engineers who work to discover potential new medicines. Its cross-functional teams do research in oncology, autoimmunity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders, and infectious disease.

JoVE Highlight: Davidson Academy
Founded in 1980 in Nashville, Tennessee, the Davidson Academy is a private school accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and approved by the Tennessee Department of Education. The school emphasizes the integration of technology with the curriculum, which it enables via such methods as the widespread use of multimedia computers and streaming TVs. This way, the teachers and students will have the “skills and tools they need to excel in a technology-rich society.”
