We kicked off 2017 with a team that’s eager to make the new year even more successful than the last. See the goals we’re working to hit this year and how everyone at JoVE is helping to make 2017 our biggest year ever!
This month, the JoVE team gathered at our Cambridge headquarters to review the year that just ended and give a preview of our plans for success in 2017. Today, I want to share the goals that were discussed and spotlight the hard work that everyone on the JoVE team does to advance our organization.
First, I’d like to thank all the Managers for communicating and presenting to the team. We were especially excited to have our UK Sales Director, Mark Ingram, and our Australia Sales Director, Melissa Rijkers, in the office to share their visions for the future.
This was a great way to inform our people of where the company is heading and how important their role is in getting us there.
Video Department
The Video team will continue to do what they do best and release video articles on science research and science education. 2017 looks to be an especially productive year for them, as they’ll be tapping into scientific disciplines never before brought to JoVE Science Education.
Editorial Department
The Editorial team will be using new tools and techniques to attract researchers interested in publishing their work in a visual format. They’ve developed initiatives to increase manuscript submissions and are working on ways to make the publishing process even more streamlined.
Marketing Department
With 2017 being our 10 Year Anniversary, the Marketing team has big plans! You can expect contests, awards, and exciting announcements all year. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube to keep up to date on everything they’re releasing.
Library Relations Department
Our Library Relations teams are getting a great response to the new JoVE Unlimited license option. They have already reported new inquiries from existing and new customers interested in taking on everything that JoVE publishes. Look forward to them expanding the JoVE user-base and usage.
IT Department
In 2016, our amazing IT team increased our website traffic by over 12%. This year, they’re planning even more improvements to make for a better user experience including a full redesign of jove.com! Keep an eye out for all the exciting new changes in the year ahead.
Human Resources Department
The HR team has big plans for 2017 to develop and train our whole team so they can continue to be successful contributors to our growth. To do that we’re planning on introducing initiatives targeted at making JoVE an even better place to work and strengthening the JoVE community even further.
Finance Department
Our Financial Controller shared with us the spectacular 2016 results and gave his thoughts on what made the past year such a success. He then detailed some of the ways he and our Finance team will be working to make 2017 our best year yet!
