Akademische Einrichtungen weltweit haben sich während der Pandemie schnell an das digitalisierte Lehren naturwissenschaftlicher Kurse gewöhnt. Videolektionen sind ein großartiges Werkzeug, um komplexe Themen auf vereinfachte Weise zu vermitteln und die Wissensaufnahme der Studierenden zu verbessern, die flexible Kurspläne benötigen. Dies ermöglicht es den Lehrenden, ihren Unterricht im Voraus zu planen und so mehr Zeit für Aktivitäten zu haben, bei denen die Studierenden im Mittelpunkt stehen. Der Pädagoge W. Matthew Leevy, Direktor für biologische Bildgebung an der University of Notre Dame, sagt: „JoVE-Lehrvideos ermöglichen ein schnelles und tiefes Verständnis komplexer MINT-Themen, um das Engagement der Studenten und die Lernergebnisse zu steigern, und sie unterstützen innovative Lehrinitiativen wie Blended Learning und gespiegeltes Klassenzimmer“.

**Was unterscheidet JoVE von anderen Video-Ressourcen?**

Alle JoVE-Inhalte werden von Wissenschaftlern erstellt und von Redakteuren und wissenschaftlichen Experten überprüft. Das JoVE Journal ist peer-reviewed, um wissenschaftliche Genauigkeit und höchste Qualität zu gewährleisten. Das Ergebnis sind beeindruckende Animationen und leicht verständliche Videodemonstrationen von Experimenten, die Labortechniken und Schlüsselkonzepte veranschaulichen. 

Dies macht JoVE-Videos einzigartig;

1. **Hochwertige Videos ermöglichen effektives Lernen:**

Eindrucksvolle Animationen und leicht verständliche Videodemonstrationen von Experimenten veranschaulichen Schlüsselkonzepte und Labortechniken, insbesondere solche, die für das menschliche Auge nicht sichtbar sind. JoVE-Videos enthalten auch klare Bilder, Illustrationen, Animationen mit Soundeffekten, Voice-Overs und Erzählungen. Im Gegensatz zu JoVE sind viele Videos auf YouTube und anderen Online-Video-Sharing-Plattformen möglicherweise nicht gut recherchiert. JoVE-Videos werden nicht nur mit einem Augenmerk auf höchste Qualität erstellt, sondern JoVE stellt auch sicher, dass Protokolldemonstrationen sowohl Sicherheitsstandardisierungen als auch Warnhinweise beinhalten.

2. **Eine Bibliothek mit Tausenden von Videos, die auf Abruf verfügbar sind**

Heute gibt es in der JoVE-Bibliothek mehr als 13.500 Videos in einer Vielzahl von Disziplinen – 14.000 Stunden Videoinhalt von 2 Minuten bis maximal 20 Minuten Laufzeit. Jedes Jahr veröffentlicht JoVE mehr als 1.200 neue Videos, um diese Bibliothek auf dem neuesten Stand zu halten. Der rund um die Uhr verfügbare Zugriff ist von überall möglich und erhöht die Flexibilität für Lehrkräfte, Studenten und Forscher, da sie Inhalte bei Bedarf ansehen und wiedergeben können.

3. **Echte Wissenschaft in echten Laboren**

JoVE-Videos präsentieren echte Wissenschaft und Live-Demonstrationen von reellen Laborexperimenten, die von wissenschaftlichen Experten durchgeführt wurden. Dies ermöglicht es den Studierenden, besser zu verstehen, wie Konzepte in der realen Welt angewendet werden, ein tiefes Verständnis für komplexe wissenschaftliche Themen zu entwickeln und zu lernen, wie echte Laborgeräte zur Durchführung von Schlüsseltechniken verwendet werden. Im Gegensatz zu gamifizierten oder simulierten Laborexperimenten bereitet der Kontakt mit realen Naturwissenschaften Studierende, die in Haupt- oder Nebenfach einen wissenschaftlichen Kurs belegt haben, besser auf die praktische Arbeit im Labor vor.

JoVE-Videos unterstützen die wissenschaftliche Forschung und Ausbildung auf allen Ebenen und decken alles von den Grundlagen bis hin zu fortgeschrittenen Methoden und Konzepten in Naturwissenschaften, Technik und Medizin ab. JoVE-Videos werden im Klassenzimmer und für Laboranwendungen wie Ausbildung und Forschung verwendet. Millionen von Wissenschaftlern, Pädagogen und Studenten an Tausenden von Universitäten, Hochschulen, Krankenhäusern und biopharmazeutischen Unternehmen weltweit nutzen JoVE zum Forschen, Lehren und Lernen.

JoVE Education-Inhalte verfügen über Untertitel in mehreren Sprachen wie Deutsch, Niederländisch, Russisch usw. Dies erleichtert den mehrsprachigen Unterricht und spielt eine zentrale Rolle bei der Förderung der Studierenden. Alle JoVE-Research-Inhalte sind auf Englisch, um wissenschaftliche Genauigkeit zu gewährleisten, die bei technischen Übersetzungen verloren gehen kann.
